Taxes, Assessments and City Budget

What does your tax dollar buy you? To many this is a very complicated answer. This webpage serves to provide important information about your community and to demystify the property taxes.

Find out what services are available to city residents and businesses, and learn the function of each department and the goals set for the current calendar year. The City Assessor is contracted, appointed annually by the City Council. By statute, the function of the Assessor's Office is to place values on all taxable property to assure the fair distribution of the property tax burden.

Payment Details

The first or full installment of taxes are due to the City Treasurer on or before January 31st. Second installments of taxes are due to the Calumet County Treasurer on or before July 31st. Second installments should be dropped off or mailed to:

Taxes are collected by the following methods:

  • In person: Taxes will be collected at the Brillion City Hall, 130 Calumet Street

  • Drop off: Drop-off box is available inside the main entrance to City Hall 24 hours a day.

  • By mail: Check or money orders only, sent to City of Brillion, 130 Calumet Street, Brillion, WI 54110
