Curbside Christmas Tree Pickup:

The City will be providing curbside tree pickup continuously until Friday, January 27, 2017.  Trees covered with snow will not be picked up.  A drop-off site is available at the City Compost Site.  If using the Compost Site please drop trees off by the brush pile.

 2017 Dog and Cat License:

REMINDER: All City of Brillion residents owning a cat or dog that is older than 6 months is required by City Ordinance to purchase a license. Proof of rabies vaccination is required when licensing your pet.  The deadline for purchasing a 2017 Dog or Cat License is April 1, 2017. 

License fees:            $3.00 spayed or neutered,  $8.00 non-spayed or non-neutered,  A $5.00 penalty will be imposed after April 1, 2017.

2016 Property Taxes:

The first installment or full payment of the 2016 property tax is due to the City Clerk/Treasurer by Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 130 Calumet Street, Brillion.  Second installments are due to the Calumet County Treasurer by Monday, July 31, 2017.

 Please note:  Mortgage escrow checks must be paid directly to the City Treasurer to be applied to the property tax bill.  If a refund is due, the Treasurer will send a refund check to the property owners.  The City Treasurer will not endorse mortgage escrow checks over to the property owners.

Winter Parking Ban:

The City Winter Parking Ban will be in effect November 15, 2016 until April 1, 2017.  There is no parking on City streets between 1:00 am and 6:00 am.  Exceptions are to attend religious services and for physicians on emergency calls.  The fine for parking overnight on City street during the City Winter Parking Ban is $25.00.

 Overnight parking permission can be obtained by calling the Brillion Police Department and providing your vehicle information and location.

 Snow Removal Reminder:

Per City Code, any person failing to remove either snow or ice from the sidewalk within 24 hours after a snowfall or sleet storm shall be subject to forfeiture, and the city shall have such sidewalk cleared of snow or ice and the expense thereof levied as a special tax against the property, collected as are other taxes. The expense of such snow and ice removal shall be charged at a rate $120.00 per hour with a minimum charge for 1 hour.

 Please shovel your sidewalks within 24 hours after a snowfall event.

Please DO NOT blow or shovel snow back into or across the street.

Please DO NOT pile snow on sidewalk terrace if your property is in the Downtown District.

Please keep your sidewalks & sidewalk ramps free of ice & snow.

Please remove vehicles from the street when the snowplows are in operation.

Please remove snow from around fire hydrants near your home.

Mailbox Policy:

The City of Brillion will pay a maximum of $25.00 if a mailbox, located within the terrace area set back 6 to 8 inches from the curb or road edge (per City Code sec. 82-8) and is directly damaged by a snowplow.  The City is not responsible for any damage due to snow coming off of the plow or for damages to mailboxes that are not located within the terrace area defined in City Code sec. 82-8 as follows:   Responsibility to maintain. Every owner of land in the city whose land abuts a terrace is required to maintain, or have maintained by his tenant, the terrace directly abutting such land as provided in this section and elsewhere in this Code. Every owner shall keep mailboxes located on a terrace set back 6 to 8 inches from the front face of the curb or road edge to the mailbox door and shall be kept  free and clear of snow.
